Phase 3 PAYMENTS
Processing Cost Calculator

See what you could offset.
Then verify it with one statement.

Enter your monthly card volume, what you pay now and your card mix. We'll estimate what surcharge or dual pricing or cash discount could potentially offset.

One recent statement replaces the assumptions with your real numbers.

Use the total processing cost from one recent monthly statement, including recurring processing fees.

Used to flag surcharge rules that may need additional review.

Estimate only

These estimates use the numbers you entered and simplified assumptions. They are not quotes or guarantees. One recent processing statement lets us replace the assumptions with your actual card mix, fees and program options.

Enter your current monthly processing cost to see your estimated cost offsets.

Why They Differ

Same card bill.
Different way of offsetting it.

The estimates differ because the programs affect different transactions and present pricing differently. Your actual card mix and approved program setup determine what can really be offset.

Surcharge

A surcharge adds a disclosed fee to eligible credit-card transactions. Debit and prepaid cards are treated differently under card-network surcharge rules, so the share of your volume that is actually eligible matters.

See surcharge rules →

Dual pricing / cash discount

The calculator groups these together for a simplified cost-offset estimate. In practice, dual pricing and cash discount programs can be structured differently, and the exact treatment depends on the approved program, processor and pricing setup.

The calculator shows what may be worth investigating. One recent statement tells us which option deserves a closer look.

What Changes the Estimate

The statement replaces
the assumptions.

Card mix

Credit, debit, prepaid and rewards cards do not all behave the same way. Your actual mix can materially change the estimate.

What you pay today

A recent statement tells us what the business is actually paying now. That gives the calculator a real starting point instead of an assumed rate.

Program rules

Surcharge, dual pricing and cash discount work differently. The processor, equipment, program structure and applicable rules can all change the result.

Customer behavior

Some customers may change how they pay when pricing changes. A calculator cannot know that before the program is live.

Use the AI assistant you already use. We'll send it the same inputs and estimates from the calculator, then ask it to research the rules, challenge the assumptions and tell you what could move the number.

Audit this savings estimate before I act on it.

Use my calculator inputs. Research current surcharge, dual pricing and cash discount rules. Explain what could change the estimate and cite current sources.

Each button opens the same research prompt in a new tab. Nothing is submitted until you send it.

AI can still get things wrong. Read the citations and compare the answer with your actual statement and program documents before making a decision.

Straight Answers

Ask these before you
trust the estimate.

Stored assumptions, card mix and program rules all change the number. Here is what the calculator is and is not doing.

These figures are estimates based on the numbers you enter and labeled assumptions. They are not quotes or guarantees. Your actual card mix, fees, program rules and customer behavior can change the result. One recent processing statement lets us replace the assumptions with your actual numbers.
Surcharge programs typically apply only to eligible credit-card transactions. Debit and prepaid cards are treated differently under card-network surcharge rules. Dual pricing and cash discount programs are structured differently, so the same card mix can produce a different estimate. Card mix is one factor, not the only one.
Not usually. A surcharge cannot be applied to debit or prepaid cards under Visa and Mastercard surcharge rules, and not every credit transaction is automatically eligible. State, processor and program requirements can also change what can be recovered. The estimate shows a modeled offset, not a guarantee of full recovery.
No. These programs can offset a portion of current processing cost depending on the approved program, processor, card mix, equipment, customer behavior and pricing setup. The calculator does not assume remaining cost falls to zero.
Choose I don't know and the calculator uses a clearly labeled conservative assumption instead of pretending it has your actual card mix. The assumption is shown with the results. Your statement is still the way to replace it with a real number.
Then the honest answer may be to stay where you are. This page estimates potential cost recovery. It does not assume you should switch processors or start a surcharge or dual pricing program.
