Phase 3 PAYMENTS
Point of Sale & Terminals

The right POS might be
the one you already have.

Changing processors does not always mean changing your point of sale. Tell us what you use and how your business runs. If the platform can stay, we leave it alone.

If it cannot, or it is slowing you down, we help you choose, configure and support a better fit.

Before you change anything

Your POS is one decision.
Your processor is another.

You can like the system your team uses and still dislike the pricing or support behind the payments. You can also have fair processing attached to a system that slows the business down. Those are different problems, and they do not require the same fix.

If your platform supports another processor, you may be able to keep it and change only the processing. If the system itself is the problem, we help you compare replacements. We check both before recommending anything new.

What we may tell you

Keep everything

Your current system works, the pricing is fair and changing would not improve enough to justify it.

Keep the POS. Change the processing.

The software works, but the processing price or support relationship needs to change.

Change the POS.

The system is costing your team time, creating errors or getting in the way of how the business runs.

Full point of sale systems

Compare the fit.
Not the logo.

We configure, install, train and support all six. Each is strong in different places, so we start with how your business works and narrow the list from there.

Sometimes one of these six is the right answer. Sometimes a terminal is enough. Sometimes you should keep what you have.

Simple payment terminals

Don't buy a full POS
If a terminal will do.

If your business does not need menus, inventory or a full point of sale system, a payment terminal may be the better fit. You get a straightforward way to accept cards without paying for software your team will not use.

Depending on the model, processor and program, these terminals can also support dual pricing, cash discount or surcharge.

How we choose

Four questions before anyone mentions a brand.

Every one of these changes the answer more than the logo on the front of the box does.

What happens at your busiest hour?

Twelve covers waiting on one terminal is a different problem from a three-hour job invoiced from a truck. Throughput decides form factor before anything else.

Who is typing on it at 7pm on a Friday?

A seasonal hire who started Tuesday needs a layout they can learn in ten minutes. That constraint outranks feature lists.

What else has to know about the sale?

Inventory, accounting, online orders, a booking system, payroll. Every integration you skip becomes somebody re-typing numbers.

What happens when it fails?

Everything fails eventually. What matters is whether the answer is a person tonight or a ticket on Tuesday.

The close

Tell us the counter. We will not pick a box in a form before we hear the shop.

Setup and launch

The box should not be
Your implementation plan.

When you need a new system, we help get it configured, teach your team how to use it and plan the transition before the busiest part of your week becomes the test run.

Configured before go live

When the platform supports it, we build the users, items, menus, modifiers, tax settings and other available configuration before your team starts using the system.

Training with a real person

We walk your team through the workflows they actually use. Training may be in person or live by video, depending on the system, location and setup.

A planned cutover

When the setup allows it, we test the new system alongside the old one before the final switch. If it cannot run in parallel, we map the cutover so everyone knows what happens and when.

Going live is the beginning of the relationship, not the end of the install.

Check our work

We sell POS systems.
Check our work anyway.

Use the AI assistant you already use. The prompt asks it to compare the systems on this page with major alternatives using current sources, then explain the tradeoffs before you choose.

Compare POS systems before I choose one.

Check total cost, processor flexibility, hardware, integrations, support and who each system actually fits. Cite current sources.

Each button opens the same detailed research prompt in a new tab. Nothing is submitted until you send it.

AI can still get things wrong. Read the sources it cites and compare the answer with the actual proposal, agreement and product documentation. Find something inaccurate about Phase 3? Send it to us and we will correct what we control.

Point of Sale FAQ

Before you buy a POS,
Get these answers.

The brand name is only part of the decision. Processor flexibility, hardware, integrations, setup and support matter too.

There is no single best system. We look at how busy you get, who has to use it, what needs to connect and what happens when something goes wrong. The right answer may be a new POS, a simple terminal or the system you already have.
No single system fits every business. Phase 3 sells and supports several platforms, and the recommendation depends on how your business operates. We would rather tell you to keep what you have than replace it with something that does not improve the business.
A payment terminal is primarily for accepting payments. A full point of sale system can also manage things such as orders, inventory, employees, menus, customers and reporting. If you do not need those tools, a terminal may be enough.
Sometimes. Some platforms allow multiple processing options and others are tied to a specific processor or payment ecosystem. Tell us what you use and we will check compatibility before recommending new hardware.
Possibly. It depends on the device, processor, encryption, software and how the equipment was originally configured. We check that first so you know what can stay and what, if anything, actually needs to be replaced.
Hardware options vary by system. Depending on the equipment and program, you may be able to purchase it outright or finance it. We show you the equipment cost and payment options before you commit.
Phase 3 helps configure and launch the systems we sell and supports your team through the transition. Training may be in person or live by video depending on the system, location and setup.
